FCPC OBJECTIVES
The
OBJECTIVES of the Florida Council of Private Colleges, Inc.
are:
1.
To assist members private faith based educational
institutions to achieve CERTIFICATION with the Council of Private
Colleges of America, Inc. through quality peer review, onsite visits,
verifying data, to CPCA and FCPC standards which exceed the minimum
standards of the state of Florida,
2. To avoid any
violation of the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment to the
United States Constitution,
3.
To avoid payment of state imposed base fees that constitute a tax on
its member private faith based educational ministries,
4. To provide
access to religious education leaders with established track records,
5.
To provide an organization that supports religious educational freedom,
6.. To
distinguish quality religious based member colleges from dishonoring
religious based degree mills,
7.
To provide ongoing assistance from among member institutions for
starting and maintaining quality religious based education programs,
8. To provide
member private faith based institutions with joint legal representation
for religious freedom issues that support the mission and purpose of
the FCPC,
9.
To serve member private faith based institutions
which enroll no students who receive state or federal financial aid for
education in the form of student loans or grants excluding Veteran's
benefits,
10. To provide
member private faith based institutions with proper guidelines for
maintaining quality student records including official transcript,
11.
To provide member private faith based institutions
with assistance in arranging for another institution or educational
agency to keep and service student records in the event of closure,
12. To provide
member private faith based institutions with guidance and direction in
library and other learning resources and how they can provide, ensure,
and maintain access for their students to these information resources
and services,
13.
To provide guidance to member private faith based institutions in
developing new programs, courses of study, and operational procedures,
14. To have
member private faith based institutions in compliance with “Fair
consumer practices,” physical plant safety, and fraud statutes,
15.
To provide member private faith based institutions with guidelines
and/or assistance in investigation and resolution of complaints
regarding their institution,
16. To provide
member private faith based institutions with guidelines and/or
assistance in generally accepted accounting practices for prudent
financial management especially for unearned tuition and future
permanent records management,
17.
To involve member private faith based institutions personnel in
carrying out the objectives of the FCPC, especially the peer review
process,
18. To provide
consulting services for member private faith based institutions through
Consultlee & Associates, Inc.
19.
To represent member private faith based institutions before any
educational or governmental agency.
